ONCE UPON A TIME. March 24, 2012 - February 10, 2013 at the LSU Museum of Art
Discover that dreams really do come true in the exhibition Once Upon a Time! This exhibition takes you on a magical exploration of fairy tale-themed artworks and works of art that allude to some of the best known and most beloved fairy tales, myths, fables, and legends.
Fairy tales have a special place in our childhood memories, as well as in our adult hopes and dreams. For centuries, storytellers have stirred our imaginations with their fantastical plotlines of valiant protagonists pitted against frightful villains. Their stories teach practical lessons and moral values, as happily-ever-after outcomes reflect our own hopes for humanity. These same ideals are mirrored in the artworks in Once Upon a Time, on display from March 24, 2012 through February 10, 2013, in the LA Machinery Gallery

The Language of the Enemy is a prison story exploring those layers of expression and states of mind that make us capable of dissolving tense situations. This video is the first collaboration of Holly Streekstra (USA) and Dávid Adamkó (Hungary), inspired by a television interview and the spatial character of the LOOK Gallery. The Language of the Enemy is a striking reaction to the current and disquieting questions of freedom of expression.
